Flat cotton wicks for garden candles
Flat cotton wicks for garden candles are designed for outdoor use in garden candles, torches and paraffin or oil lamps. Made from unbleached cellulose fibres, they are distinguished by their natural yellowish-brown appearance and their ability to absorb and carry liquid fuels efficiently.
Can only be used outdoors with paraffin candles.
How do I choose the size of my garden wick?
The width of the wick should correspond to the opening of the reservoir or burner of your garden lamp or candle. A wick that’s too thin won’t capture enough fuel; one that’s too wide will be difficult to insert and could obstruct the passage.
Our advice on using flat garden wicks
Insert the wick into the reservoir of your garden lamp or candle, leaving 1 to 2 cm protruding on the flame side. Before lighting for the first time, leave the wick to soak in the fuel for a few minutes to make it easier to ignite and avoid dry burning.
Before use, keep the wick away from any source of ignition during the impregnation phase.
Use your lamps and torches in a well-ventilated area away from strong winds that could destabilise the flame.
After each use, carefully extinguish the flame and wait for it to cool completely before handling the container. Store your stock of wicks in a dry place away from humidity.
