LX wicks for container candles mounted on holders
LX waxed wicks mounted on holders are designed for container candles. Their flat structure in 100% pure natural cotton with integrated reinforcements guarantees a stable, controlled flame throughout the burning process. Developed primarily for paraffin wax formulations, they offer excellent performance across a wide range of containers and diameters. They also work with vegetable waxes.
Lead-free, nylon-free and with no metal core, LX wicks meet the requirements of both craft workshops and larger-scale candle production. Their coating makes them easy to ignite and ensures a consistent flame from the very first light.

How do I choose the size of my LX wick?
The choice of wick size depends on the diameter of the container used, the fragrance dosage and the presence of any colourants.
The more fragrance, colourant or dense vegetable wax a candle contains, the larger the wick size may need to be. In this case, you should choose one or two sizes larger than those shown in our table.

- Wick too small = tunnel effect or flame extinction.
- Wick too large = excessive flame, smoke or overheating of container.
- A suitable wick = melts the wax over the entire diameter with a height of 10 mm (pool).
Combustion tests are still essential to determine which candle wick is best suited to your formulation.

Our advice on using LX wicks
To position your coated wick on the base, pour about 2 mm of melted wax into the bottom of the container, then immediately place the wick in the centre, keeping it in a vertical position. After about fifteen seconds, the wax will solidify and hold the wick in place.
As an alternative, you can usea self-adhesive tablet or a special sticky wax to make positioning easier.
After pouring, leave about 7 mm of wick visible on the surface of the candle.
Before each lighting, trim the wick to 5 mm to ensure a clean burn without excessive smoke. Protect your candle from draughts and prolong the first lighting sufficiently to obtain even melting over the entire wax surface.
For large-diameter containers, you may need to use several wicks to ensure even burning.
