Isopropyl Myristate is a plant-based emulsifying base. It is a colorless and odorless oily liquid that promotes excellent fragrance diffusion in your candles or reed diffusers. It also improves the adhesion of wax to glass and allows you to create scented liquid blends.
Benefits of Isopropyl Myristate
Isopropyl myristate can be added up to 10% of the fragrance volume to:
- Increase the flash point
- Limit fragrance evaporation
- Improve the final scent performance
Create scented liquid blends
To make your own liquid fragrance blend, use 90% myristate mixed with 10% fragrance . Add mica and/or glitter for added decorative effect. This blend can be used in a burner, just like a melt, without the risk of ignition.
Myristate for your poured candles or scented melts
Add 5-10% isopropyl myristate to your fragrance oil just before adding it to the wax. For every 100ml of fragrance, add 10ml of isopropyl myristate.
Myristate for your reed diffusers
Prepare a solution for your reed diffuser composed of 20% myristate, 20% fragrance and 60% 90° pharmacy alcohol .
